Astrophotography is a unique and challenging art that goes far beyond simply capturing a single shot. It requires careful planning, aligning your timing with weather conditions, tides, the Milky Way's position, and setting up equipment to combine multiple images into one stunning result. Post-production also plays a major role, demanding significant time and modern computing power to process numerous photos. While the journey into astrophotography can be complex, these sessions are designed to save you hours of trial and error, helping you avoid common mistakes and build your skills more efficiently. These sessions not only provide essential guidance for beginners but also cover advanced tools and techniques for those looking to take their astrophotography to the next level. These sessions are perfect to complement our online training course with a hands-on experience. CONTENT - Basic concepts of astrophotography - Choose the right equipment - Introduction to landscape astrophotography - Starry Landscapes without Tracking Mount - Starry Landscapes with Tracking Mount - Star Trails - Night Sky Timelapse Videos - Planning and shooting OBJECTIVE The objective of these sessions is to provide the directions to get started with landscape astrophotography with modest and low-cost equipment. This course also teaches you how to get two major types of astrophotography: Starry Landscapes, Star Trails. With both types of astrophotography, you can also generate Night Sky Timelapse Videos. TARGET AUDIENCE This training course is targeting amateur and professional photographers interested in landscape astrophotography. LOCATION Stargazing Labs are taking place from Duder Regional Park, Maraetai, just 40 minutes from the Auckland CBD. This beautiful location offers stunning views of the night sky and extremely low light pollution coming from the city. If the gate to the regional park is closed, our staff will come to open it so you can park your car inside. There are public toilets close to the observation area, next to the car park. Finding the observation area can be tricky if you are not familiar with Duder Regional Park.
